The Calgary folk music fest is going to be held from July 22nd till 25th. I havent had the opportunity to attend this last year because I simply didnt know about it , but this year i'll make sure to get the best out of it.
so many artists have subscribed there who i havent heard the name of more than 90% of them, but at least its an opportunity to discover new bands and music. among those that I know them , the are Tom Russel , Library Voices, St. Vincent and of course The Swell Season , which is why i got so excited about this whole thing.
Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova forming the Swell Season are those who made the movie Once which got academy awards for the best original song in 2008 i suppose. The movie was always one of my inspirations.
Moreover, the chromewaves blog is offering two full tickets of the fest for free, to take part in the draw you should send an email to them which they wrote it's specifications there completely. good luck.
